Best for anything that isn't urgent. Send a photo of the model plate and we can often tell you where you stand before we come out.
Saratoga
35 The Corso, Saratoga NSW 2251. We're based here and we come to you.
7am to 7pm
Seven days on the phone. Repairs are booked Monday to Friday.
Whichever way you get in touch, you're dealing with the person who does the work. Have a look at everything we repair, or the areas we cover.
Before you ring
Four things make the call quicker and the answer better. With all four we can usually tell you where you stand before anyone comes out.
1The brandWhatever it says on the front.
2The model numberOn a sticker or a metal plate. See below for where to look.
3Roughly how oldA guess is fine. Five years or fifteen changes the answer.
4What it's doing"It fills but won't spin" tells us more than "it's broken".
| Appliance | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Oven | Around the door frame |
| Washing machine or dryer | Behind the door, or on the back |
| Fridge or freezer | Inside, along the wall |
| Dishwasher | On the edge of the door |
Take a photo of it and you won't have to go looking twice. You can email it to us if that's easier than reading it out.
What to have ready
Four things that let us answer properly on the phone.
- The brand
- The model number, usually on a sticker
- Roughly how old the appliance is
- What it is actually doing
Sometimes we'll tell you the part is no longer made and the appliance isn't worth fixing. We'd rather say that on the phone than after you've paid for a visit.
Request a callback
Can't talk right now? Leave your details and we'll ring you back. It takes about a minute.
We use your details to ring you back about your repair. Nothing else, and we don't pass them on.
What happens after you ring
We tell you the service call fee
Straight up, on the call, before anything is booked. It's the same fee whatever the brand on the appliance.
We tell you when we can be there
While you're still on the phone. If we're booked out we'll say so rather than string you along.
We come to the appliance
We repair appliances where they are, built-in ones included. Nothing gets pulled out of the cabinetry and carted off to a workshop.
Everything is quoted before work starts
Parts and labour, quoted before anyone picks up a spanner. Every repair carries our 12 month warranty on parts and labour.
What Central Coast locals say
Contact FAQs
What does a call-out cost?
There's a service call fee and we'll tell you exactly what it is when you ring, before we come out. Parts and labour are quoted before any work starts, so nothing lands on you afterwards. The fee is the same whatever the brand.
Which suburbs do you cover?
Homes across the Central Coast, from Patonga in the south to Berkeley Vale in the north and Somersby in the west. That includes Gosford, Erina, Terrigal, Woy Woy, Umina Beach and the suburbs around them. The full picture is on our service areas page, and if you're not sure whether you're in, ring and ask.
Are you open on weekends?
We answer the phone seven days, 7am to 7pm. Repairs are booked Monday to Friday, so a weekend call gets you a straight answer and a weekday booking.
My appliance has stopped completely. What now?
Ring us rather than using the form, and if it's a fridge or freezer, move what you can into an esky or a neighbour's freezer while you wait. If the appliance is sparking, smoking or tripping the safety switch, turn it off at the wall and leave it off until we've looked at it.
Do you give free quotes?
Not for repairs. Working out what's wrong with an appliance is the job, and doing it properly takes time and tools, so it's covered by the service call fee. Air conditioning installations are different: those quotes are free, and there's a form for them on the air conditioning page.
My appliance is still under warranty. Should I ring you?
Ring the manufacturer first. If it's still inside the manufacturer's warranty that repair should cost you nothing, and there's no sense paying us for something you're already entitled to. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of who you call.
Can I email a photo instead?
Yes. A photo of the model plate, or of what the appliance is doing, often saves a conversation. Send it to johnhullelectrics@hotmail.com. If the appliance is off and you need it back on, ring instead.
Broken appliance? Let's get it fixed.
One call, a straight answer, and a service van full of parts. That's how it's worked since 1987.
